The MRC Clinical Trials Unit runs trials in a range of disease areas.  We specialise in trials in HIV/AIDS and cancer, but we also run trials in other areas, for example arthritis and tuberculosis. Click here for a complete list of our research areas.

Most of the trials we run are randomised controlled trials.  You can find out more about randomised trials by clicking here. We also do research to bring together the results of all trials of a particular treatment that have been carried out around the world.  This research is called a systematic review, or meta-analysis.
